Wonderful wool table cover/ bedding cover, hand-spun, hand-dyed, hand-loomed.

Size 66″ x 26″, maker Mary Chapka, in Alberta; came to Canada from Bukovena, Ukr., in 1892 @ 8 years old; made this @ age 16 in 1908.

Brilliant colours, from non-smoking household, not worn nor faded.

Used to carry paska (Easter bread) for Blessing, pysanky (dyed Easter eggs), or to deliver marriage gifts.

Alberta origin, obtained there.

INDIA EMBROIDERED DOOR HANGING

Measures 46″ wide, 14″ from top to edge of opening, 44″ high each side.

Typical Buddhist symbols, with detailed depictions of birds, animals, and humans, as well as the god Ganesh; c. 1920 ?

Bordered with floral-printed fabric; good condition, with back deterioration, but front intact.

Typically, each side is alike. Minor soiling, I did not try to clean. My friend from Taos says it is from 1950s, so I choose to believe him.

Wonderful small rug, 64″ x 37″, hand-knotted and loomed, with low, even, tight pile. Mainly dark red & blue, with orange field with 2 columns of 10 geometric medallions (guls), with gorbaghe secondary guls.

Wide red stripe, alternate dark and light guls.

Overall good density of ~400 knots per square inch. Even wear to one area of field. C. 1940.
