Note: top has natural shrinkage filled decades ago.
Clean interior, detailed metalwork. Original heavy lock & key.
Largest trunk I have ever found !
Brought from Alberta in 1989.
Mahogany Tilt Top Table
English mahogany rotating tilt-top table ("tip-and-turn") c. 1840, with primitive "bird-cage" support.
Two-board top 35.75" x 34.25", perfect dimensions to prove age shrinkage !
Supported by simple rotating box on heavy turned column on 3 curved pad-foot legs, each with beautifully pierced knee !
hutterite Wool Winder
A pine wool winder, Canadian Hutterite origin with original bright orange paint.

Obtained from a Canadian picker (not Sheldon nor Scott) in Edmonton, Alberta.

Canadian pine high chair, obtained from central saskatchewan 30 years ago.
Refinished 50 yrs ago in "honey pine", as was highly desired then !
icelandic spinning wheel
All original paint. Brought to Gimli, MB from Iceland 75 years ago.
38" high, 18" diam. wheel turns freely; hard-to-see minimal warp.
mennonite corner cupboard
Original grain-painted surface over yellow undercoat with traditional black trim. Obtained near Russell, MB c.1994.
Note raised centre-panel door, drawer from soap-box construction ! Back foot added c.1940 to convert to floor-standing. Missing gallery replaced c.1998, ref. figs 463, 465, p.279 "Canadian Country Furniture" 1994.
Ukrainian 1-piece pine kitchen cupboard, 76" high, 42" wide.
Old robin's-egg blue & yellow over original white, Alberta origin.
2 chamfer-panel doors to bottom, tongue & groove multi-board back.

Incredible Canadian Ukrainian pine 1-piece cupboard with scalloped top, original light- green surface, hand-painted yellow/ brown grain-paint design !
Size is 74" high, 40" wide, bottom 24" deep; bottom part is 43" high with 31" upper cupboard with glazed doors. Chamfer-panel lower doors.
Superb oxidation to inside & to back !
A country-made table, but designed to look "formal" !
Fruitwood tilt-top 27" x 43" oval, inlaid with many different woods, on oak gate-leg stand with chip-carved designs; 47" high folded.
Rose-head nail construction. c. 1820.

Canadian 2-piece flat-to-the-wall cupboard of maple and pine c.1880, Nova Scotia.
Base is 30" high, 52.5" wide, 24" deep.
Top is 58" high, 49" wide body with deep heavy cornice 57" wide.

18th C oak 2-piece dish dresser or pewter cupboard.
Back with 3 shelves on base with 3 drawers, arched arcades over pot-board shelf; all on through-stile legs. Original back-boards.
Base is 58" wide, 31" high, 78" high overall. Probably Yorkshire c. 1770.
Victorian Walnut Sideboard
A wonderful Victorian solid walnut & veneer sideboard c.1860, 60" wide x 37" to main surface, plus 4" high backboard.
Top with 2 wide drawers sits unattached upon 2 pedestals, each with single-door compartment.

On octagonal solid walnut column with central carved disc.
Georgian (Regency) flame mahogany chest of 5 drawers (2 over 3) c. 1830.
French-style bracket feet, cock-bead drawer edges, pierced back-plate handles replace original wood mushroom knobs (sympathetically done !)
